Character Creation

All characters must be approved by a GM before being used in play.

.

Choose a Henge Type

Each type comes with 6 base powers.

The following henge templates are available:

  • Bear
  • Bird
  • Cat
  • Dog
  • Dragon
  • Fish
  • Fox
  • Mouse
  • Pony
  • Rabbit
  • Raccoon
  • Witch
  • Wolf

.

Flavoured Henge

You can choose an animal that is similar to one of the ones mentioned above, using their template. For instance, you could make a Deer that uses the Pony template, or a squirrel using the Mouse template. Confirm with a GM when you do this.

.

Secrets

There are secret options available for trusted players. Talk to a GM.

.

Choose Weaknesses

Each Henge type has several weaknesses that come with additional powers. Choose 1-3 of these. You must choose at least one.

.

Distribute Attributes

You have 8 points to distribute between the four attributes Henge, Child, Animal and Adult. Each attribute must be at least 1, but no more than 4. The exception is Adult, which can be 0. Some henge powers and weaknesses also change the allowed values.

.

Describe Your Character

Name, age, gender, origin, hair, eyes, height, weight, backstory
.

Age

The Golden Sky Stories setting from the Core book has characters being children. That is not the case in this campaign. You can be any age you want - though not too young, as you need to be able to talk and interact with people reasonably normally to have fun playing the game. And if you want to be more than 200 years old, you'll need to take the weakness/power pair Old/Old Friend.
.

Name

The world follows a flowery/earthy naming convention. You are not required to chose such a name, but your character will fit better into the world if you do. Example names:

  • Amber
  • Bluebell
  • Cherry
  • Dawn
  • Emerald
  • Fern
  • Geranium
  • Heather
  • Ivy
  • Jasmine
  • Lavender
  • Moss
  • Narcissus
  • Ocean
  • Pepper
  • Rose
  • Spring
  • Tulip
  • Violet
  • Wave

.

Setting-Based Optional Powers

There are also a set of "additional powers" which aren't tied to any specific "race" of Henge, but which any player can choose from when selecting their "1 to 3 additional powers + weaknesses". Click below to read over them.

Note that these don't technically count as Henge powers, but as more "normal" magic, so certain effects that only apply to the magics of the Henge may not work on these.
